Long Haul Tours by Teamlink Travel Ltd Long Haul Tours - South America

With the most diverse landscape in the world, South America offers a wealth of possibilities for touring teams. Glaciers in the south give way to rain forests in the north, linked by the continent spanning Andes mountain range. The stunning ecological variety is only comparable to the hospitality of the indigenous peoples.

Our suggested itineraries take in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay, just a few of the exciting vibrant countries infused with Latin American spirit that makes this part of the world so special.

Standing in the foreboding shadow of the Andes, Chile's capital is also its largest city and a must visit for touring teams in South America. Two decades of sustained economic growth have transformed Santiago into a sophisticated metropolis with a spectacular infrastructure.

That isn’t to say that this is a city that has sold out its cultural heritage. Towering office buildings give way to beautifully maintained colonial buildings and the gleaming new subway serves as a handy link to the bohemian barrios.
Santiago’s many parks and museums serve as oasis of cultural calm in this noisy but friendly destination. Past the city limits and visitors are faced with a choice of extremes; rolling beaches to the east and skiing to the west.

A training session can also be scheduled for teams seeking to prepare for their opening tour fixture on foreign soil.

Sightseeing trip around the city by chartered coach.  An optional excursion is available to Valparaiso or Vina del Mar on Chile's Pacific coastline.  Should your tour fall in the southern hemisphere summer (DEC-FEB) we can arrange for an excursion to the vineyards of Santiago and surrounding areas.  For teams visiting in the winter period you have the opportunity of a day’s skiing or snowboarding in the Chilean Andes, approximately one hour’s drive from your Santiago base.

After 3 days’ acclimatization it’s time to take on the locals in their own backyard.  Enjoy your first competitive fixture with a match against local opposition followed by an evening with your hosts.

Your group can be accommodated in a variety of standards, ranging from BRONZE (for the budget conscious) to GOLD (for teams with higher tour package budgets).  Alternatively, you may wish to include BILLETING / HOMESTAYS as part of your package.  Staying with families on tour is a great opportunity for students to experience first hand life within a different culture.  It is also a great way to expand players’ grasp of foreign languages and make friends for life within their chosen sport.  Importantly, billeting allows you to remove a cost element from your touring package and help reduce the overall tour price for your intended destination.

As part of our duty of care policy, all tour groups are escorted by a bilingual guide at all times.  Your representative will be on hand at your arrival airport until departure day and assist with all scheduled areas of the itinerary, including hotel check in, transfers to sporting fixtures and any sightseeing activities associated with the tour.

Our service also encompasses the planning and organisational side of your trip. Our TEAM PAGES offer clubs the opportunity to view the progress of their tour on their own specific Teamlink webpage, which allows tour leaders to provide up to the minute news on theiritinerary through a secure web link. Please view the ‘Testimonials’ section for quotes from some of our recent touring teams, or click here to complete an enquiry form and receive a free quotation.
